Sharon, other stars in Cinemalaya 2017

Sharon Cuneta joins the indie bandwagon for the first time as she stars in Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha by Mes de Guzman, one of the 10 independent films selected as finalist for the full-length feature category in the Cinemalaya 2017 Competition. Cuneta plays a desperate woman seeking reconciliation with her husband and two children.

The other finalists in Cinemalaya’s full-length feature category include Ang Guro kong di Marunong Magbasa (My Teacher Who Doesn’t Know How To Read) by Perry Escaño starring Alfred Vargas, James Blanco, Mon Confiado and child actors Miggs Cuaderno, Marc Justin Alvarez, and Micko Laurente; Baconaua by Joseph Israel Laban featuring Elora Españo, Teri Malvar, JM Salvado, and Bembol Roco; Bagahe (The Baggage) by Zig Dulay with Angeli Bayani; Nabubulok by Sonny Calvento with Gina Alajar, Billy Ray Gallion, and JC Santos; Pacboy by Thop Nazareno; Requited by Nerissa Picadizo with Jake Cuenca and Anna Luna; Respeto by Treb Monteras II with rappers Abra and Loonie; Sa Gabing Nanahimik ang mga Kuliglig by Iar Lionel Benjamin Arondaing features Ruby Moreno, Alex Medina, Karl Medina and Ronwaldo Martin; and Unang Patak ng Ulan sa Buwan ng Mayo (The First Drop of Rain in the Month of May) by Cenon Obispo Palomares stars Rosanna Roces, Micko Laurente and Laila Ulao.

Cinemalaya 2017 will be on Aug. 3 to 14 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and the Ayala Malls Cinemas.
