Dry run of light truck ban fails to ease traffic woes along EDSA

Day one of Metro Manila Development Authority’s dry run of light truck ban fails to ease traffic congestion along EDSA.

Motorists still experienced heavy traffic congestion from Cubao, Quezon City up to Boni Avenue in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday morning.

Field reports indicate many MMDA personnel are not aware of the new traffic scheme.

The dry run begins today until Saturday (March 18).

Light trucks are banned from travelling along the southbound lane of EDSA and Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong and Pasig City from 6 am to 10 am.

The ban is also enforced along the  northbound lane of EDSA and Shaw Boulevard from 5 pm to 10 pm.

MMDA will fully implement the plan on Monday (March 20).
