Bautista vows more patrol cars for QCPD

Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista has ordered an inventory of all patrol cars and service vehicles issued by the city government to the QC Police District.

During the turnover of the 50-brand new patrol cars to the QCPD, Bautista said he wants to replace old units with a new fleet.

“We will buy new vehicles again,” the mayor promised.

According to QCPD director Guillermo Eleazar, the city government has given the police force 220 vehicles and 86 motorcycles.

Eleazar said 86 vehicles have been declared “beyond economical repair” based on the assessment of the QCPD disposal committee.

Since Bautista assumed office in 2010, the city government has already invested more than P145 million for the acquisition of additional vehicles and equipment for the city police, including firearms, ammunitions and bulletproof vests.
