PNP lays out procedures in anti-drug operations

Philippine National Police (PNP) Operations Director Camilo Coscolan enumerates the procedures when law enforcers conduct operations against illegal drugs.

He says, policemen must be wearing uniforms.

The police chiefs or station commanders must be the ones leading the group as they move.

The raiding units must be accompanied by a barangay official or a church representative.

Coscolan’s instructions come, as the PNP revives its war against drugs.

PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa formed this week the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), which replaced the disbanded PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (PNP-AIDG).

PNP-AIDG was abolished following the involvement of some of its members in the abduction and killing of Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo.
