Retired Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Ricardo Visaya is now the new administrator of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA).
Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol says, President Rodrigo Duterte informed him about the appointment on Monday evening.

Visaya replaces Peter Laviña, who resigned amid controversy arising from accusations of involvement in some government contracts.
He is just awaiting his appointment papers from Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.
Visaya retired from the military last December 7, 2016.
