“Just shut up and do it!”
This is the statement of Senator Antonio Trillanes in response to Solicitor General Jose Calida’s warning that the lawmaker could be charged in court for supposedly harboring criminals.
Calida was referring to the protective custody that Trillanes is giving to Senior Police Officer 3 Arthur Lascañas and Edgar Matobato, who claimed to be the team leader and member of the alleged Davao Death Squad (DDS).
Trillanes says, Calida can threaten him as much as he wants.
He notes that if it were true that he is insignificant, as the Solicitor General supposedly sees him, then he asked why Calida and other officials of the Duterte administration seem to be afraid of him.
Trillanes maintains, he will continue to provide security to Lascañas.
