Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol reports that President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the dredging of four major rivers across the country.
Piñol says, he secured the President’s nod during the cabinet meeting on Tuesday night.
The rivers that will be dredged are the Agusan River, Rio Grande de Mindanao, Pampanga River and Cagayan River.
Agusan River rises in the southeast and flows northward until Butuan Bay of Bohol Sea.
Rio Grande de Mindanao begins near Butuan City and empties into the Moro Gulf through Cotabato City.
Pampanga River traverses the provinces of Pampanga, Bulacan and Nueva Ecija.
Cagayan River flows through the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Isabela and Cagayan.
