THE Quezon City government will donate P1 million to the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit to support the development of the Philippine music industry.
A resolution authorizing Mayor Herbert Bautista to make the donation to the OPM has been approved by the City Council.

Authored by Councilor Godofredo Liban II, the resolution says the assistance is “necessary” in supporting OPM’s various programs, including the “Linggo ng mga Musikang Pilipino,” celebrated every last week of July as mandated under Proclamation No. 933.
Established in October 1986, OPM is the country’s most respected group of Filipino singers, presently headed by singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid.
