THE Bureau of Immigration on Monday said there would be no extension for the application of annual report for all foreign nationals staying in the Philippines as the deadline for the registration is on March 3, 2017.
Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente warned foreigners who failed to report for the annual registration would be deported.
“As of Jan. 26, a total 50,414 aliens have made their annual report as required under Republic Act 562 or the Alien Registration Act of 1950,” Morente said.
BI data revealed there were more than 500,000 foreigners in country living and staying in the country.
Morente said of the 50,000 who already registered, nearly half of the aliens reported to the BI main office in Intramuros while the rest paid their fees in the 49 field, satellite and extension offices of the bureau nationwide.
The alien registration act provides that all registered foreign nationals shall make their annual report within the first 60 days of every calendar year.
BI alien Registration division chief Fortunato Manahan, Jr. said under the rules, each alien shall pay the government an annual report fee of P300 and legal research fee of P10.
For those aged less than 14 years, their parent or legal guardian shall report on their behalf.
