A beaming taxpayer at Makati City Hall shows off a newly issued business permit before enjoying the free lunch provided by the Business Permit Office on Friday. Makati BPO chief Atty. Maribert Pagente said about 900 meal packs were distributed to clients as a gesture of appreciation for their efforts to put their papers in order and pay the correct taxes and dues to the city government. The free meals will still be served to taxpayers until Jan. 31, the extended deadline for payment of taxes and fees without penalties or surcharges for businesses that filed their application for Mayor’s Permit on or before Jan. 25.
