Tourists take shade and stand on top of one of the rock formations on Biri Island in Northern Samar. Sculpted by the wind and waves in an area between the San Bernardino Strait and the Pacific Ocean, the rocks are between 23 to 25 million years old, according to geologists from the University of the Philippines.
