TWO-TIME champion Judiciary Magis aims to claim an automatic slot in the semifinals as it takes on the MMDA Black Wolves at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the UNTV Cup 2017 at the Pasig City Sports Center.
The Judiciary Magis are at second spot with 7 wins and 2 losses, alongside the PNP Responders.
“Kailangan namin dobleng paghahanda, kasi hindi na kami puwede ng matalo sa MMDA dahil kapag natalo kami, laglag kami sa semifinals na hinahangad namin. Must-win kami sa MMDA. Kailangang doblehin namin ang kayod para manalo kami doon,” said Judiciary coach Dennis Balason.
The Magis suffered their second loss at the hands of the AFP Cavaliers on Jan. 15, 80-72.
“Mag-eensayo ulit kasi galing nga sa bakasyon, medyo nagkaroon ng lapses. So this coming Sunday sa MMDA, siguro todo preparasyon ito at talagang gagawin naming lahat para makapasok kami sa semifinals,” said Balason.
The MMDA Black Wolves are at the bottom spot, alongside the NHA Builders with four games won and 5 games lost.
The battle between Judiciary Magis and the MMDA Black Wolves will be aired live on UNTV, with live streaming via untvweb.com.
The Bureau of Customs Transformers take on the AFP Cavaliers at 5 p.m.
The top two teams at the end of the second round will automatically advance to the semifinals, while teams from 3rd to the 6th places will battle in the quarterfinals.
