SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna—One person was killed while six others were wounded in an explosion, apparently caused by a hand grenade, at a lot at the center of a property dispute on Monday morning, police said.
San Pedro City Chief of Police Supt. Harold Depositar identified the dead as a certain Jeffrey, alias “Monay,” a laborer and a resident of Dasmarinas, Cavite.

Injured in the explosion were Mark Angel Ambat, Kim Cabudol, John Caballes, Jester Lustria, Erik Joson and Romcard Esto.
Depositar said the explosion happened at 9 a.m. on an 80-hectare property in Sitio Southridge, Barangay San Antonio. The lot is the subject of an alleged dispute between several owners, whom the police chief said are currently under investigation.
