The Sandiganbayan has deffered the arraignment of Former Metro Rail Transit (MRT) General Manager Al Vitangcol for graft charges.
This is due to his pending motion to dismiss the cases filed by the Ombudsman.

The anti-graft court rescheduled Vitangcol’s arraignment to March 16, 2017.
The graft complaints are in connection with Vitangcol’s alleged attempt to extort $30 million from Czech company Inekon, in exchange for contracts for the supply of additional light rail vehicles and maintenance of the MRT-3 in 2012.
The Ombudsman had also found found Vitangcol administratively guilty of grave misconduct, serious dishonesty and unlawful solicitation.
