TROPICAL depression “Auring” made landfall over Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte around 5.m. on Sunday, weathermen said.
The storm’s center was near Cagdianao in Dinagat Islands, and it had maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

It was forecast to move northwest at 9 kph.
“Auring” is forecast to leave the Philippine area of responsibility late Wednesday or early Thursday.
Signal no. 1 was raised over Cuyo Island, Bohol

Siquijor, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Southern Leyte, Cebu, Guimaras, the southern part of Iloilo, the southern part of Antique, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte including Siargao Island, Dinagat Island, Misamis Oriental and Camiguin Island.
Those within the tropical depression’s 300-km diameter must brace for moderate to heavy rain.
