Think of a place that can be a source of adventure for people of all age groups. Think of adrenaline rush, exciting rides, food or just the joy of having the fun company of your friends and family members. Now stop thinking and turn these images into reality and head to an adventure park called SandBox.
SandBox is the centerpiece of Alviera, a 1,125-hectare integrated mixed-use development in Porac, Pampanga that offers outdoor adventure and fun rides. At the same time, it also serves as a hub for foodies and music aficionados.
Last month, the outdoor adventure park featured live bands turning the park into a concert venue where local acts like Ki Ro, Chocolate Factory, Che Che Bureche, Silent Sanctuary, Moonstar 88, and Hale showcased their music. Their performances extended opening hours to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
During the holiday season, SandBox unveiled its additional fun activities and rides that cater to young thrill seekers.
Called Li’l People, the latest attraction for children at SandBox welcomes children up to 12 years old. The air-conditioned indoor playground is filled with colorful play areas where children can interact with each other. Educational toys abound to help them learn while playing.
“SandBox in Alviera is popular with families, especially those with small children. Our newest facility will service the needs of families with little kids. This way, all family members, not just the adults, can have a great time in SandBox,” shared Jomi De Guzman, Alviera Project Development manager.
New dining choices have also been added due to an increased foot traffic in the outdoor theme park: El Pedro Cubano, an authentic Cuban restaurant that offers Cuban sandwiches, tamales and empanadas; Morgan’s Comfort Food, which offers authentic Kapampangan dishes; and Monster Milkshake, which offers milkshakes, ice cream and bubble waffles, along with savory snacks like hotdogs and waffles.
Since its opening in 2014, SandBox Adventure Park has attracted visitors not only from Pampanga, but also those coming from Manila and nearby provinces. Its popular attractions include the Aerial Walk that takes visitors through an obstacle course above ground. The Giant Swing keeps riders thrilled 10 meters up, and many are lined up for the Adventure Tower’s offerings: rappelling, wall climbing and free fall.
Other thrill seekers can enjoy Avatar One, Asia’s first roller coaster zipline at 180 meters long. The open fields of Sandbox are ready for outdoor activities like camping, kite flying, field games and other sports.
The SandBox also offers ATV and mini-ATV rides, a themed kiddie playground with picnic areas, mini-golf, a courtyard and an open field for field sports and other outdoor activities.
Oculus Archery Range provides fun with a bow and arrow to Sandbox goers. Newbie and skilled archers are welcome to experience Outdoor Archery. AQTIV Archery, where archers run through a maze and face moving targets and obstacles, is the first archery challenge maze in the country.
And while the mix-used development continues to take shape, SandBox will include Urban Karting in its lineup of attractions next year.
Alviera is an Ayala Land sustainable estate in partnership with Leonio Land, located in Porac, Pampanga and accessible via NLEX-SCTEX. Envisioned to become a regional growth center of Central Luzon, it features a diverse mix of quality residential, industrial and commercial developments.
