The Sandiganbayan has dismissed the motion to quash filed by Ex-Senator Juan Ponce Enrile’s former chief of staff Jessica Lucila “Gigi” Reyes.
This is in connection with the plunder case filed against her and Enrile for supposedly collecting P 172-million worth of Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) from 2004 to 2010.
This was done after the pork barrel was allegedly diverted to the foundations of businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles.
In its decision on January 3, 2017, the anti-graft court said, the facts contained in the complaint against Reyes are sufficient in filing a plunder case.
Reyes’ motion earlier claimed that the accusations presented by the Ombudsman were vague.
She had also claimed that some items in the bill of particulars, like the use of “and/or,” confused her.
But the Sandiganbayan maintained, these details simply means, the Ombudsman was alleging that Reyes, her deputy chief of staff Jose Antonio Evangelista and Enrile repeatedly received kickbacks from Napoles and her representatives.
Reyes is detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.
