Marital fight leads to man’s suicide

NOVELETA, Cavite—A construction worker committed suicide by hanging himself inside his home after arguing with his wife, who threatened to separate from him and take their children with her, police said Wednesday.

Joemar de Leon, of Barangay San Rafael 4 here, was found dead in the kitchen hanging from an insulated cable wire by police investigators, who responded to a call from a concerned citizen, officer on case, PO2 Rommel G. Lachica said.

Witnesses said De Leon had argued with his wife, who brought their children to their neighbor, Melissa Espeno before walking out of their home that evening. When police arrived after the call, they found De Leon’s lifeless body.
