THE Chinese Embassy has vowed to finance the construction of three more drug rehabilitation centers here to help the government in its drug rehabilitation efforts, the Interior Department said Friday.
The areas being considered to house the rehab centers include a 10-hectare land in Rosario, Cavite, another 10-hectare property in Tagaytay and a four-hectare area in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, Interior Undersecretary for Operations John Castriciones said.
But he said the embassy’s officials were interested in properties near Metro Manila.
“They were represented by Charge d’ Affaires He Xiangqi and also by the National Police Attache’ Fu Yunfei of the People’s Republic of China. They informed us that they are very much interested to donate a facility for drug rehabilitation,” Castriciones said.
“They will be sending over a delegation in order to have an inspection of the possible areas where they can build the rehabilitation facility which they will finance.”
