Rape try foiled

KAWIT, Cavite—A construction worker was arrested Sunday after a failed attempt to rape a waitress at a bar and restaurant in Barangay Putol here.

Noel Carino, 20, of Bagong Silang in Caloocan City, was collared by the owner of Flintstone Bar and Grill after the waitress, Mary Queen Tamundong, 25, managed to escape being cornered in the women’s bathroom and cried out for help, officer on case SPO2 Roldan Velez Requioma said. 

Carino had followed Tamundong into the bathroom, pointed an ice pick at her and threatened to stab her if she made a noise. But the waitress managed to break the toilet door and cried to her boss, Inocencio Dominguez, for help.
