Prequalified bidders will have more time to work on their bid proposals for the Regional Prison Facilities to be located in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija as the Department of Justice and Bureau of Corrections pushed the bid submission to April 27, 2017.
Prequalified bidders were poised to submit their bids on Nov. 24, 2016, the Public-Private Partnership Center said.
The announcement was made through General Bid Bulletin No. 25-2016 issued by DOJ’s Pre-Qualifications, Bids and Awards Committee (PBAC) published on Nov. 8, 2016.
The Regional Prison Facilities through PPP Project is the first PPP project for the DOJ and BuCor and the first of its kind in the country.
Local bidders Mega Structure Consortium, San Miguel Holdings Inc. and DM Consunji Inc. have all prequalified for the P50.2-billion project.
The DOJ and BuCor are asking its prospective private partner to finance, design, construct, and maintain the prison facility, with the BuCor having complete control over the operations of the proposed regional prison.
