CALAMBA, Laguna—A “high-value” drug suspect was killed and his two brothers were captured after a raid to remove illegal drugs in this city on Wednesday morning.
Calamba City Police Chief Supt Albert Tapulao said the suspect, Herman Manila, was killed after resisting arrest at Barangay Palingon here at 5 a.m. on November 16.
Police were conducting a buy-bust operation and executing a search warrant in the area when an encounter with Manila occurred, Tapulao added. They recovered 36 sachets of suspected shabu and an Ingram machine pistol from the scene.
Manila’s brothers, Ronnel and Rommel, were also captured in the operation.
All three suspects were on the regional police’s high-value drug suspect list, Tapulao said.
Meanwhile in Cabuyao City, an armed encounter developed during a buy-bust operation at Barangay 3, leading to the capture of suspect Allan Pabalan.
Cabuyao City Police Chief Supt. Fernando Ortega said Pabalan was on the city’s “newly-identified” drug watch list.
A caliber .38 pistol and four sachets of suspected shabu were recovered from the suspect.
