THE Philippine Army and their counterparts from the United States Army started on November 14 a month-long military exercise in Puerto Princesa City.
Army spokesman Colonel Benjamin Hao said the training engagement of the Philippine Army with the US Special Operations Forces this time is called “Balance Piston 16-4.”
“This is an annual training event to hone our soldiers’ skills on basic war fighting. Also to improve relationship of the two armed forces,” he said. “The exercises only involve a small unit of soldiers, around 30 to 40 personnel. I don’t know how many from the US side.”
“This is in line with the guidance from higher headquarters to reduce live firing. But definitely, there would be marksmanship training inside camp because you have to improve your marksmanship skills,” he said.
