FOUR elite troops were wounded when one of them stepped on a planted improvised explosive device while on foot patrol Monday in Barangay Sabong, Lamitan City, Basilan, Major Felimon Tan Jr., spokesman of the Western Mindanao Command, said.
Tan did not give the names of the wounded but he said all were alive and quickly airlifted to the nearest military hospital for medical treatment.

Tan said the explosion happened at around 9:15 a.m. while conducting pursuit operations of a group of Abu Sayyaf Group.
