SC allows Marcos’ burial at Libingan Ng Mga Bayani

Supreme Court favors the burial of Former President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

Sources say, the nine justices voted in favor of plea, five voted against the move while one justice abstained.

Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos hailed the ruling.

She is with Marcos supporters who are rejoicing right now in front of the Supreme Court along Padre Faura St. in Manila.

"Hindi ako makapaniwala kaya pumunta na ako dito sa Supreme Court. 27 years na namin yang hinihintay! (I can't believe it that's why I went here to the Supreme Court. We waited for that for 27 years)."

Asked how she learned about the news, she said, "sa text text at sa mahiwagang Facebook (through text messages and the mysterious Facebook)."

Former Senator Bongbong Marcos thanks the high tribunal for the decision.

He says, his family will resume talks with concerned agencies on when the burial may take place.

“We were hoping that the decision will go this way. We are grateful to the Supreme Court. We are grateful to President Duterte. Now, maipagpapatuloy na nating ang ating plano tungkol sa paglilibing (now we can continue our plans for the burial).”

SC Spokesperson Theodore Te is expected to hold a press conference on this matter anytime Tuesday afternoon.
