A South Korean fugitive wanted in his homeland was nabbed by agents of the Bureau of Immigration while playing golf inside a posh golf course in Silang, Cavite.
Seo Wun Sub was arrested by BI agents and officers of the South Korean embassy in Manila at the Riviera Golf Club, according to Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente.
Seo reportedly duped several Korean businessmen amounting to more than P100 million and fled to the Philippines last year to evade prosecution.
Morente said there is a standing arrest warrant against the Korean from the Tongyeong branch of Changwon District Court.
Morente reiterated that he would not allow foreign fugitives to use the country as their hiding place.
He ordered the bureau’s intelligence group to intensify the government’s drive against illegal and undesirable aliens in the country.
