Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe have promised to pursue the peaceful settlement of the South China Sea dispute.
They made this vow after their bilateral meeting in Tokyo.

Duterte said, he will work closely with Japan on issues of common concern.
For his part, Abe said, the South China Sea territorial row has a direct link to the regional stability.
He also stressed the importance of adhering to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) in resolving maritime rows.
