Bounty for Roxas market bombing on hold–Duterte

DAVAO CITY—The local government here will not easily release the P3-million bounty to whoever introduced themselves as the informants who helped lead to the capture of three suspects in the Roxas night market bombing.

City legal office chief Osmundo Villanueva said they have recommended that the fiscal’s office should first find probable cause against the suspects before the bounty can be released.

The three suspects—TJ Tagadaya Macabalang, Wendel Apostol Facturan and Musali Mustapha—were apprehended in Cotabato City for their alleged involvement on the September 2 bombing.

Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said she has adopted the recommendation of Villanueva.

“Our city legal has released a guideline as to when will we release the reward money, for them the case must be filed in court first, and that’s the only time we will consider giving out the reward,” she said.

She said the military has yet to release its own report as to who were their informants.

“We required the military to submit report for their recommendation as to who will receive the award,” Duterte said.
