Three persons died and five are missing in the aftermath of Typhoon Karen.
In a press briefing in Malacañang, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Executive Director Ricardo Jalad reported, they are still confirming the circumtances behind the cause of death of the third victim.
Earlier reports identified the two fatalities in Catanduanes as Felicito Tesorero and Rene Magtangob.
Jalad also said, a total of 5,077 families evacuated during the height of the storm.
2 boats capsized in Catbalogan City and crewmembers and passengers were rescued.
128 mountaineers who belong to three separate groups have been found safe.
At least 943 houses were partially damaged in Regions 1, 2 and Cordillera.
The NDRRMC places the initial damage to agriculture in Region 5 and Cordillera at about P 572 million.
