One person was killed and at least 11 were injured as an old platform of a pumping station of the Metro Manila Development Authority in Manila collapsed.
The pumping station is located at Estero de Balete along Romualdez Bridge in Ermita.
Local authorities identified the fatality as Barangay Tanod Alfredo Quijano.
He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Those who were injured are being given treatment.
The victims were conducting a clean-up operation at the pumping station when the incident happened.
Rescuers and an MMDA crane have arrived at the site.
Witnesses said, the platform gave way because it was carrying a very heavy load.
They recalled, at least 20 cleaners were standing on it moments before the accident took place.
The platform can only carry the weight of 3 persons.
