The Senate will just offer a ‘simple activity’ for Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago prior to her interment on Sunday.
Santiago’s Chief of Staff Rissa Ofilada says, this is following the lawmaker’s wish.

“Alam nyo naman si Ma’am Miriam. Simple ang gusto. Hindi bongga,” she said.
The Senate had wanted to offer a necrological service for Senator Santiago but her family declined.
Ofilada adds, such a service cannot anymore be included in the schedule as it is already tight.
The wake for Santiago is ongoing at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Cubao, Quezon City.
A mass will be held at 1 pm on Sunday.
Afterwards, her remains will be brought to Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City.
