He attributed the release of Sekkingstad to the long negotiations done by Presidential Peace Adviser Jesus Dureza, Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) Founding Chairman Nur Misuari and Former Sulu Governor Abdusakur Tan.

Sekkingstad earlier thanked Duterte and all those who worked to secure his release.

Dureza had also announced the release of three Indonesians who were abducted by the ASG.

Dureza had said, “we were able to receive the 3 Indonesians” and that upon the instructions of the President, they were turned over to Indonesian officials who went to Jolo, Sulu.

The three Indonesians, identified as Lorens Koten, Teodurus Kofung and a certain Emmanuel, are now on their way to Jakarta.
