THE Department of Labor and Employment issued a new rule exempting overseas Filipino workers from submitting overseas employment certificate as a requirement to leave the country as part of the government’s program to streamline processes in the deployment of OFWs.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III has issued Governing Board Resolution No. 12, Series of 2016, which will exempt a group of OFWs from submitting OEC on an experimental basis starting next week.

Bello said the new rule is in line with the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte to streamline processes in the deployment of OFWs to afford them facility and ease in transactions before government offices.
