President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday announced that he will be placing a bounty for the arrest of policemen and their cohorts who are involved in illegal drugs.
“I am inclined to place rewards on the heads of the members of the police who are protecting the drug syndicate in this country. I am placing in their head at P2 million," the President said before war veterans at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.
"There will always be a day of reckoning against drug syndicates and criminals," Duterte added.
Responding to criticisms on his war against drugs, Duterte stressed that the state does not condone the vigilante-style killings of drug lords.
"Genocide? I did not kill anyone. I simply want the law abiding citizens of the country safe. Period," Duterte said.
