The Department of Education (DepEd) will no longer accept funds from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
PAGCOR Chairperson Andrea Domingo says, DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones informed her that the Education Deparment will no longer accept money from gambling operations, citing its principles.

The PAGCOR chief also says, the gaming company is losing P 10-billion in revenues following the expiration of its contract with online gambling operator PhilWeb Corporation last August 10.
But she hopes to recoup the lost income from off-shore gaming exclusively for foreigners.
Domingo notes, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) are not allowed to engage in PAGCOR’s off-shore gaming operations.
