Caloocan poll case dismissed

 THE Commission on Elections junked the protest filed by former Caloocan mayor Enrico Echiverri against incumbent Mayor Oscar Malapitan due to “insufficiency in form and content.”

The decision of the poll body’s 1st Division, comprised of Commissioners Christian Robert S. Lim, Luiz Tito Guia and Ma. Amelia Rowena Guanzon, said Echiverri failed to specify which of the city’s 4,312 precincts or 963 clustered precincts where supposed anomalies occurred.

In the last elections, Malapitan garnered more than 300,000 votes while Echiverri got more than 160,000. The 130,000 difference could be translated to a victorious landslide against Echiverri, the public information office said.
