“Simply Delicious” is this year’s theme of the Indonesian Food Festival today at SM Megamall A Event Center in Mandaluyong.
In this joint project of the Indonesian Embassy in Manila and SM Megamall, 10 booths are selling Indonesian dishes that are simply delicious, diverse, vibrant, colorful and full of intense flavors at reasonable and affordable prices.
Two exhibitors offer free sampling to boost the endorsement of their Indonesian products. This event is not only aimed at promoting Indonesian cuisine, but also a means of social mission by way of donating to selected organizations.
The beneficiaries of the 2016 Indonesian Food Festival are The Ursuline Sisters of Roman Union in Fairview Quezon City, a charitable institution for children with special needs, and the Ibnu Khaldun Integrated School, which is a Muslim school in Maharlika Village, Taguig City.
The program starts at 11 a.m., and food selling begins right after the official cutting of the ribbon.
Aside from enjoying delicious Indonesian specialties, the mall audience will also be treated with cultural performances, the first part in the morning and the second part in the afternoon. These include Indonesian dances and musical renditions using the Indonesian traditional instrument called “Angklung.”
The Indonesian Food Festival is one of the many exciting cultural events at SM Megamall.
