PRESIDENTIAL flights will no longer be accorded “quasi-emergency” take-off and landing procedures and should be treated as a regular flight in accordance with the wishes of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Antonio Buendia, director general of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, issued a memorandum to that effect after the Department of Transportation and Communications advised him of Duterte’s wishes about presidential flights, called “Kalayaan [Freedom]”.
