TOFIL Award resumes, says JCI

The Junior Chamber International Senate Philippines has revived The Outstanding Filipino (TOFIL) Awards following the formal launching  at the Club Filipino with a new corporate partner,  the ANSA Foundation Inc.

JCI Senate Philippines national president Rogelio Garcia  thanked Anthony Philip Nocom, president of the ANSA Group of Companies, for his support   to this project.

“The rebirth TOFIL is the fruit of our deepest and unwavering commitment to our organization. TOFIL is synonymous to JCI Senate Philippines and its revival after a two-year hiatus bolsters the noble mission of our organization to dispense social responsibilities necessary to create positive individual change, as well as foster the bond of friendship and camaraderie,” Garcia said.

JCI Senator Ramon dela Rosa Nanadiego is this year’s national chairman and the 2016 TOFIL Awards Committee is composed of JCI senators: Renato Balatbat (Search), Dennis Cunanan (Screening), Melandrew Velasco (Publications and Publicity), Manuel Caswell (Reception), and Philip Briones (Media Relations).

Since 1988, the TOFIL Awards has sought to institutionalize public recognition of men and women, 41 years of age and over, whose exemplary achievements are worthy of emulation.

TOFIL seeks to give national recognition to Filipinos whose selfless dedication to their profession or vocation has resulted in significant contributions to the welfare of their countrymen and our country at large, as well as to the advancement of their respective fields of endeavor.

ANSA Foundation chairman and past TOFIL awardee Dr. Emil Q. Javier represented Philip Nocom and his family   who committed to sponsor the annual search over the next five years with P1-million annual funding following the signing of a memorandum of agreement between JCI Senate Philippines and ANSA Foundation. TOFIL Foundation will be formed to  insitutionalize the annual search and award-giving body.

The Nocom family’s late patriarch, Antonio, in whose honor the sponsorship of the TOFIL is being made,  was himself an outstanding Filipino in his own right for his invaluable financial contributions to Philippine agriculture, particularly in the development and propagation of cattle and crops for agribusiness.

The ANSA Foundation, Incorporated was founded on January 20, 1983 to immortalize the legacy of Mr. Antonio Nocom and his wife, Mrs. Susana Ang, who were the pillars behind ANSA Genetics, Inc., which is the country’s premier technology leader in livestock breeding using advanced genetics. For over 26 years, the company has successfully engaged in the culture and improvement of bovine animals.

Nomination forms are available at  the JCI Senate Philippines office at (632) 374-4390.
