FOUR-TIME World Cup champion Rafael ‘Paeng’ Nepomuceno is the new coach of the Philippine bowling team.
Nepomuceno was appointed to the post last month, a job he felt he deserved.
He said he has long wanted to help and bring glory back to bowling and inspire the athletes.
Now 59, Nepomuceno once held the crown in the World Cup in 1976, 1980, 1992, and 1996.
His feat put him in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Paeng also has awards from five Philippine presidents, and has a United States Bowling Congress gold level coaching certification.
Joining him in the coaching staff are former world champion Biboy Rivera, Jojo Canare, Rey Reyes, and Johnson Cheng.
