CHEVRON Philippines Inc. said Euro 4-compliant gasoline products are now available at its retail stations in Metro Manila and other major cities.
Chevron Philippines said in a statement Euro 4 Caltex with Techron gasoline would be available nationwide by the end of the year.
“Combined with the introduction of cleaner fuel standards such as Euro 4, motorists can be assured that their engines will be equipped with specially-formulated ingredients which would not only keep engines clean but also offer maximized power, better fuel economy, smoother drive, lower emissions and reliable performance,” Chevron Philippines said.
The Euro 4 rollout is in compliance with the Philippine Clean Air Act and Energy Department Circular No. DC2015-06-0004, mandating the use of environmentally clean fuels that meet specified emission standards.
The main objective of the emission and fuel standard upgrade is to improve vehicle emissions for better air quality. This has to be done in unison with the availability of Euro 4 compliant vehicles.
Chevron Philippines said Euro 4 Caltex diesel and gasoline fuels would be available in all Caltex stations in the country by Jan. 1, 2016.
Chevron Philippines Inc. has been operating in the country for more than 90 years.
Caltex, its retail brand, offers high-quality products and services. There are close to 700 Caltex service stations strategically scattered throughout the Philippines. Other oil firms also rolled out their respective Euro 4 fuels.
Market leader Petron Corp. earlier announced that its diesel products, Turbo Diesel and DieselMax, now meet global Euro 4 fuel standards, following the successful launch of its Euro 4 gasoline products in June.
Petron said the move marked an industry first as the only oil company capable of locally producing a full range of premium fuels that meet the cleaner and more efficient Euro 4 global standard.
