The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the 2.2-kilometer Bangui Bypass Road Project in Ilocos Norte, a significant infrastructure development designed to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance transportation efficiency.
The agency said that the four-lane bypass road, featuring drainage, slope protection, road safety measures, and streetlights, has reduced travel time between Barangay Bacsil and Barangay Nagbalagan in Bangui Town from 10 minutes to 4 to 5 minutes.
The Bangui Bypass Road, with a 4-lane, 46.30-meter bridge component was implemented to address critical bottleneck in the town proper, facilitating easy transportation of local goods and services in the vicinity.
“The completed bypass road project is one of the testaments of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administration’s effort to resolve traffic issues and to improve infrastructure sustainability in the country, ensuring that basic needs and services are accessible to everyone,” said Director Tan.
The 313.21-million Bangui Bypass Road Project is a multi-year project implemented by DPWH.
