The Umbrella Academy is a series that focuses on a "dysfunctional family of superheroes". In 1989, 43 superpowered infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy a day before. Sir Reginald Hargreeves adopts seven of the children, and prepares them to save the world from an unspecified threat. Over the years the family fractured and the team disbanded until they were reunited upon the news of Hargreeves' death. But the mystery surrounding their “father’s” death and the threat of the apocalypse solidify their family ties.
The stellar cast includes Ellen Page (Vanya/Number 7), Tom Hopper (Luther/Number One), Robert Sheehan (Klaus/Number Four), Emmy Raver-Lampman (Allison/Number Three), David Castañeda (Diego/Number Two), Aidan Gallagher (Number Five/The Boy) and Colm Feore (Reginald Hargreeves) with Mary J. Blige, Tom Magaro, and Kate Walsh. The first season has 10 one-hour episodes that premiered last February 15.
