All Power. All Play. Never a dull moment with POCO M8 Pro 5G

POCO returns to the market in 2026 with the release of the new POCO M8 Pro 5G, which promises to give us “All power. All play.” and from the get-go it actually feels like they are doing good on their promise, especially since the phone comes with a 6500mAh battery and 6.83” CrystalRes AMOLED display.

The POCO M8 Pro 5G means business with a promising 6.83″ CrystalRes 1.5K AMOLED display. It’s big enough to capture everything within the screen, whether it’s for social media use or for gaming. Personally, though, I think this works well for the students, especially when it comes to playing games like Mobile Legends and more. Plus, with the narrow bezels designed into the screen, you barely have any reason to be distracted.

So let’s do a quick breakdown of the phone’s screen, starting with the 2772×1280 Resolution. The brightness is good with 3200 nits Peak brightness, and the refresh rate on this product sticks to the standard 120Hz refresh rate. It’s all built to power through whatever your task is and whatever you’re watching or streaming.

The POCO brand has always been particular with the materials that they use to proct their screens and the POCO M8 Pro 5G continues the tradition. This smartphone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, the ultra-strong glass designed to absorb impact and scratches like a true warrior.

Design

This year’s model of the POCO M series took all the good stuff from last year’s M7 Pro and blended it together with things users need to make for a better experience in 2026. POCO focused more on all-around comfort, and thus, we get this fluid design with curves placed strategically that helps the phone feel softer when gripped or held.

I also want to mention in that there are also three colors for you to choose from namely Black, Silver and Green.

You’ll also appreciate the detailing and the precision of each element of the phone particularly the center camera placement with the floating crater deco design. Of course, as mentioned earlier, the rounded edges makes the phone easier to use and grip on to while casually strutting around.

Still sticking with “All Power” concept, the POCO M8 Pro also comes ready to take on the toughest challenges phone owners may have in store. Internally, the M8 Pro has been given a reinforced motherboard that will take on the nastiest bumps and drops and still let you play your favorite Spotify tunes.

There’s also the high-strength aluminium alloy mid-frame that helps secure everything within the phone.

For the smartphone users who want more, POCO aims to please. This is why the products comes with IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K Dust and water resistance. During the review period we found that its able to withstand being soaked in 2-meter deep water for an entire day.

That’s an entire day with the phone on standby mode just chilling underwater. It’s an impressive feat for the POCO if you ask me.

Camera

Looking for a phone that’s easy on the wallet but delivers ultra clear photos? Then the POCO M8 Pro 5G will be your must-have phone for 2026. The main camera comes with a 50MP camera with Light Fusion 800. OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), 1/1.55″ sensor size, ƒ/1.6 large aperture. This gives you an unprecedented amount of power for mobile photography. There’s also the additional 8MP Ulta-Wide camera that’s perfect for taking photos abroad or traveling to beautiful locations in the Philippines.

Selfies also look good thanks to the 32MP front camera. Through this you get to capture every little detail in your selfies. Then for video outputs, your inner digital creator or influencer will go gaga knowing this phone can shoot up to 4K quality videos.

Battery

One of the fun features of the POCO M8 Pro 5G is the massive 6500mAh battery. This will be appealing to young adults and students who lead a very active lifestyle. This battery, which utilizes advanced silicon-carbon battery technology that helps improve the battery’s performance. On a full charge, the M8 Pro can stay up and ready to go for a total of 2 days on standby mode.

Charging is also on top form with the POCO M8 Pro 5G. It features a 100W Hypercharging System Ultra-fast charging system, one of the top fast charging systems out in the market today. Based on our usage, you can also get the phone up to 100% full in around 40 minutes.

Performance and Other Details

Android users both new and old won’t have a hard time using the POCO M8 Pro 5G from the moment it leaves the box. It follows the standard Android OS feel with the native Android 15 running together with the HyperOS 2 from Xiaomi. There’s barely any hiccups when using this which is also something people love about the POCO brand.

The phone is also faster thanks to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 powering up everything. This I think was also a good call because it really helped in several key uses of the smartphone for me namely for gaming and editing videos. And I’m glad to note for this review that they are taken care of quite nicely by POCO M8 Pro 5G.

The POCO M8 Pro 5G is now available in stores with SRP P16,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant and P19,999 for the 12GB+512GB models.
