Taiwan underscored its commitment to advancing global health and wellness through innovation as it hosted the awarding ceremony of the Go Healthy with Taiwan initiative, bringing together international innovators, government officials, and industry leaders in Taipei.
The program is spearheaded by the Taiwan International Trade Administration (TITA) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) to encourage cross-border collaboration in health-related technologies and solutions.
The initiative drew strong global participation, attracting hundreds of proposals from across multiple continents. After a competitive selection process, six finalists from Mexico, Indonesia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United States were invited to Taiwan to present their proposals, which demonstrated practical applications of technology to address pressing health challenges.
Representing Mexico, Solutions in Technology, Innovation and Mobility SANTIN SAS de CV (IMATEC MX)presented a proposal centered on maternal and family health, combining digital monitoring tools with mobility-focused solutions to improve access to healthcare services, particularly in underserved communities.
The proposal emphasized early intervention and continuity of care through technology-enabled support systems.
From Indonesia, APTIKNAS (the National ICT Business Association) advanced a proposal aimed at building integrated digital health ecosystems. The initiative highlighted the use of connected platforms and data-driven systems to strengthen healthcare delivery at the community level, with a focus on scalability and interoperability.
Rainbow Holidays Ltd of New Zealand offered a different perspective by showcasing a proposal that merges wellness, preventive care, and health tourism. The concept promotes long-term health management through lifestyle-based programs supported by smart health technologies, positioning wellness as a proactive and sustainable approach to healthcare.
Switzerland’s finalist, Perovskia Solar, introduced an innovation focused on sustainable healthcare infrastructure. The proposal outlined the use of advanced solar and energy-efficient technologies to reduce carbon emissions while ensuring stable and reliable power supply for medical facilities, particularly in remote or energy-constrained environments.
From Ukraine, the First Lviv Territorial Medical Union “UNBROKEN” presented a proposal centered on healthcare system resilience and rehabilitation. Designed in response to crisis conditions, the initiative aims to ensure continuity of medical and rehabilitative care during emergencies through adaptable infrastructure and technology-supported services.
The United States was represented by Ideaslab Inc., which proposed the application of smart textile and motion-analysis technologies in sports, fitness, and rehabilitation. The solution uses real-time data to enhance physical performance, monitor movement patterns, and help reduce the risk of injury through more precise and personalized insights.
Following live presentations and evaluation by an international panel of judges, three proposals were selected as winners. Ideaslab Inc. (United States), First Lviv Territorial Medical Union UNBROKEN (Ukraine), and Perovskia Solar (Switzerland) received top honors for their strong innovation potential, scalability, and positive social impact. Each winning team was awarded a cash prize and granted opportunities to pursue partnerships with Taiwanese companies and industry stakeholders.
Officials from TAITRA noted that Go Healthy with Taiwan is designed not only as a competition but as a long-term collaboration platform that connects global innovators with Taiwan’s strengths in smart healthcare, fitness technology, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing. Exhibits and networking sessions held alongside the ceremony showcased Taiwan’s capabilities in integrating information and communications technology with healthcare applications.
The awarding ceremony highlighted Taiwan’s growing role as a trusted partner in global health innovation. Organizers said initiatives like Go Healthy with Taiwan demonstrate how international cooperation and shared expertise can help address evolving health challenges and contribute to healthier, more resilient communities worldwide.
