The best gift that Congress can give the President is a budget that truly addresses the needs of the people: health, education, food security, and employment.
My own gift to President Marcos as a freshman congressman: I have asked the DPWH and the Committee on Appropriations to include no flood control projects in the district I represent, until a transparent and accountable system is sorted out.
I wish President Marcos the best in his pursuit of genuine and lasting development for our people, and I hope that all of his birthday wishes for the country and the Filipino will come true.
