‘Ramil’ now over West PH Sea, Signal No. 2 stays

Tropical storm ‘Ramil’ has been tracked at 85 kilometers west northwest of Iba, Zambales over the West Philippine Sea on Sunday afternoon after crossing several areas in Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has reported.

In an updated weather bulletin released at 5:00 p.m. on October 19, PAGASA said ‘Ramil’ was moving west northwestward at 35 kilometers per hour (kph) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

“’Ramil’ will continue moving west northwestward or northwestward over the West Philippine Sea. It is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tomorrow (20 October) morning,” PAGASA said in its latest advisory.

The storm is expected to re-intensify over the West Philippine Sea and is forecast to reach severe tropical storm category while outside the Philippines.
