Brigadier General Romeo G. Gan has assumed command of the Army’s 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division in a turnover ceremony Tuesday at Camp Capinpin, Tanay, Rizal.
He succeeded Major General Rodelio V. Santos who retired from the military service upon reaching the mandatory age of 56.
Gan is Commander of Civil Relations Service, Armed Forces of the Philippines (CRSAFP).
Sources close of the defense headquarters in Camp General Aguinaldo said Brigadier General Joselito Kakilala, chief of the AFP’s Office of the Special Studies and Strategic Office (OSSSM), will replace Gan at CRS.
Kakilala is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Maharlika” Class 1984.
As CRS chief, Gan put emphasis on work ethic in his “ROAR-CRS” which is the acronym of “Relevant, Objective, Adept, Responsive, Committed, Reliable, Service-oriented”.
A member of the PMA “Matikas” Class 1983, Gan led projects on Disaster Preparedness and Awareness; Empowerment of our Indigenous People; and Children in Armed Conflict and Role of the Youth in Nation Building.
Before designation as the civil relations chief, he was Assistant Division Commander of the 6th infantry (Kampilan) Division based in Camp Siongco, Awang DOS, Maguindanao.
