BOC rolls out electronic payment system for faster, simpler services

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has rolled out its Electronic Payment Portal (ePay) System to enable faster, simpler, and more secure digital payment transaction as part of the agency’s continuing push to digitalize government services.

The ePay System is a secure online platform for the collection of miscellaneous payments, Customs duties and taxes for non-E2M transactions, and other authorized charges.

The scheme covers payments from manually processed Goods Declarations under the informal entry procedure, addressing transactions not yet included in automated Customs systems.

The BOC said by shifting these payments ePay, it aims to cut processing time, limit manual intervention, and improve transaction accuracy.

The system enhances revenue monitoring, strengthens audit trails, and promotes transparency and accountability in customs collections.

The ePay System is integrated with Landbank’s Link.BizPortal, which serves as a centralized payment gateway allowing electronic settlement through authorized payment channels.

The integration minimizes the need for physical payments and face-to-face transactions while supporting seamless inter-agency coordination.

The BOC encouraged importers, exporters, licensed customs brokers, and other stakeholders involved in covered transactions to use the ePay System.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to make customs services faster, easier, and more convenient,” Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said.
