Aviation policemen presented a heartwarming and meaningful Christmas gift to a woman named Arni who had been desperately looking for her missing 63-year old father.
The sexagenarian had been reportedly missing for three months, last seen at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.
This kind gesture by members of the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group (PNP-Avsegroup) not only underscored their dedication to community service, but also offered a sense of hope for a family emotionally shattered by their father’s mysterious disappearance.
“I am once again asking for this post to be shared, hoping someone can help us find Papa Rolando, who is 63 years old and hasn’t been home to us for a long time. It’s possible he boarded the wrong vehicle or got off at the wrong place on his way back to Cavite, where he lives.” Arni said in an online post.
On Dec.22, Maj. Sunny Longboy, chief of the Mobile Patrol Security Unit (MPSU), formed a special team led by Capt. Warlito Mangrobang to locate the missing elderly.
The searchers found the missing father along Imelda Ave. in Pasay City, near the Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions, Inc. (PAGSS) center.
Papa Rolando was taken to the MPSU and eventually reunited with his daughter.
“This Christmas, we are reminded that our duty is not only to enforce the law but also to care for people. Helping a family find each other again is one of the reasons we serve,” said PNP-Avsegroup director Brig. Gen. Dionisio Bartolome Jr.
The daughter could not be more thankful for the most beautiful Christmas gift she ever had, courtesy of the PNP-Avsegroup agents who literally walked the extra mile to look for her lost father.
